What is sth.nz?
This tool can help make testing easier for projects that don’t have their own domain yet and you don’t want to, or can’t update your computers host file. It is very similar to xip.io which was built by the team at Basecamp, but we wanted to provide a local option for our customers.

How do I use it?
It’s pretty simple really, just enter the IP address of the server you want to view followed by sth.nz. For example we could test our website with the following http://120.138.16.9.sth.nz.

You can test any website this way, but if you have multiple websites on a server you will need to setup a virtual host rule or domain alias in the control panel to point at the right website for this to work.

For example you could have foo.120.138.16.9.sth.nz and bar.120.138.16.9.sth.nz which if setup correctly will go to different websites on the same server. We hope you find it useful!
